This video is a peek into the process of creating my deco cups. It only scratches the surface on what goes into a finished product! When you only have 1 min to show a several hour process, there’s some big edits. 😊

My glass dripped cups & mugs are one of my best examples of working through the process of trial, error, and experimentation with my work. I started trying this technique after seeing a friend and fellow college classmate @didemmert_pottery try it out on wood fired pots at NKU back in ~2012. I then started breaking up different colors of glass bottles and trying it on bare clay without glaze. Then I started putting it on a few forms that would also be glazed on the outside. Now, I’m figuring out what glaze combos work well/meh with it and introducing glass to new forms.
🤔🧐🤓
Keep experimenting and pushing your boundaries, even if it’s a little at a time.

The same cups with through out the firing process. Greenware in the top photo, bisque in the middle, and the finished glazed cups in the bottom.
